Professional:
My name is Mitch Carr, and I am a versatile communicator with more than 15 years of TV experience in both news and sports. Currently, I anchor the evening news at WDBJ7 in Roanoke, VA. Before that I hosted three hours of morning news on NewsNation. I have also worked as a news anchor in Phoenix, a sports anchor in Richmond, and a general assignment news reporter in North Carolina, Nevada, and Texas. I'm at my best when I'm being myself on camera, and I love the chance to be creative and have fun when it's appropriate.
Personal:
I am originally from Richmond, Va., and I attended the University of Miami on an academic scholarship. I finished at Miami with a double major in Broadcast Journalism and Spanish, and I can speak my second language with confidence. I played football and basketball in high school, and I am most knowledgeable about those two sports, but I enjoy pretty much any athletic competition. I am married with two young boys, and I love to read and play golf. If only I had the time.
